It's important for all canadians to be vigilant and report anything they think is suspicious to local police so it can be assessed and followed up on.
Major General for the Canadian Forces: Deputy Commander Continental. The identity of the member shot today cannot be released for privacy reasons. Working closely with law enforcement.
As a precautionary measure, military and civilian personnel are being told to remain in their buildings. Canadian Armed Forces Bases and establishments are currently taking precautions.

Ottawa police are still investigating with RCMP into the reports of a second suspect. Not saying explicitly that there is a second suspect, not saying that there isn't a second suspect.
9:52, mulitple calls through 9-1-1. After that there was an incident on parliament hill. That is the entire chronology police are sharing at this time. Will not clarify if they retrieved a weapon how how the shooter moved.
